In class we discussed the different types of friction and began working on a friction poster. We will finish these in class tomorrow (instructions are below if you would like to work on it at home). Homework tonight: p. 133 #2-6, 8-10

What your poster must include:

• An illustration with the direction of forces and motion labeled. Make sure the size of your arrows match the size of the force.


• Include in you poster the definition of friction and the definition of your chosen type of friction.


• Include a statement explaining how friction is playing a roll in your illustration.


• Be neat, creative and add some color to your poster!
  

Today we continued to discuss force and we also learned how to label force diagrams. Homework: The Nature of Force worksheet (side 1 and the left side of side 2 only)

Today we took notes on force and explored forces by playing table hockey. Homework: p. 127 #1-9

Today we began to look at what a force is and how different forces around us interact. We created foldables about this information (p. 124-127) in the text. Click here for the directions for this assignment. If you did not complete the notes in class you should complete them by next Monday. Otherwise, you have no homework.

Today we completed and shared our speed and acceleration graphs and stories. Homework: graphing speed vs. time worksheet (this is side 2 of a graphing sheet you received last week)

Today we looked at several motion graphs and discussed the difference between a velocity and acceleration graph. You also had a chance to begin your own motion graph and story to accompany it. No homework.

Today we continued to look at acceleration by calculating the speed and acceleration of a toy car.

Today we reviewed motion and began a speed challenge lab. We will complete the lab tomorrow. Homework: determining and measuring motion w/s, both sides (if it was not completed in class)

Today we began discussing motion. What is it, how do we actually know that an object is in motion? No homework tonight

What is the law of conservation of mass (or matter)? After discussing the law we completed an experiment that proved it to be true in class today. Homework: p. 397 #1,2,5-8
